About Michael Abraham
A classroom teacher who became a trainer of teachers.

Practical, honest, and built from the classroom up.
Michael Abraham has trained more than 7,000 educators. His work began in the classroom, and everything he teaches has been tested with real students and real colleagues.
He holds a Master’s degree in education with a specialization in behavior management, has taught in public classrooms in Minneapolis, and has presented at universities including Ohio State, the University of Washington, and Hamline University.
Real Deal Teaching grew from a simple observation: the strongest teachers make it look effortless, but what they do can be named, modeled, and learned.
What you can expect when we work together.
Concrete
Every session includes specific words to say, moves to make, and routines to try. Teachers should be able to use something the next morning.
Respectful
Teaching is hard. We start from the assumption that your staff cares deeply and wants to do well.
Grounded
Our methods draw on research on learning and on years of observation in real classrooms across many types of schools.
Collaborative
We build the plan with you, adapt as we learn, and leave your team with tools and confidence.
Secular and neutral
All content is secular, neutral, and non-ideological, with a focus on instruction and school systems.
Careful with data
We use no AI tools in training delivery, and student information is limited to aggregate, de-identified data.
Seen by thousands of educators.
From small faculty meetings to large conferences, Michael brings the same plain, practical style. Sessions mix short explanations with video examples, rehearsal, and plenty of questions.
